Time Out Chicago: Arts & Culture - Chicago Memories

A lot of my cultural experiences as a kid and teenager were in art-house movie theaters…the Varsity…in Evanston…the Adelphi on Clark. I miss the Granada [on Sheridan]. - Dan Savage

Rogers Park Hit

Southwest corner Sherwin and Sheridan Road (shortly after 7pm)

A 15 year old boy traveling with three friends was hit by a passing car while crossing at the intersection of Sherwin and Sheridan Road. Witnesses called police, who arrived very swiftly accompanied by an ambulance. The boy refused hospital treatment, became angry, and was consequently handcuffed by the police. More officers arrived and a decision was made to transport the young man to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.

4/27/2013 UPDATE:

We have received information that Fat Boy Subs Bad Boy BBQ has closed. Here are some relevant Yelp reviews about this business. (Excerpts)

"Great BBQ sandwiches! Sauces were awesome, sides were really great. The owner was very nice, talkative and friendly. Huge portions too, even my brother was full (doesn't happen often...!). Prices were average, the food was well worth the money".

Lauren N.
Gurnee, IL

"Former Quizno's restaurant with little change to decor. Attractive build out, friendly staff and nice music".

Kent B.
Skokie, IL

"The reason the sandwiches are so good is they have the toaster from the old Quizno's that used to be there. Food comes up fast and hot. Big friendly guy runs the place. Limited selection of sides and no fries".

Dimitri R.
Evanston, IL

"Closed for a while now! A Subway is now in its place".
