Caio Bella Cafe's new concept

Ciao Bella Cafe's reopening new concept is set for February 1st, 2014

Previously a cafe named Ciao Bella, and previous to that, a cafe named Pillars, is preparing for another transition in February of this year. But, until this transition is in place, they are renting their space for private events to the tune of $1,000 per day, or "Mon - Thurs $225/hr or $1,000/5hr Fri-Sun $325/hr or $1,500/5hr Staff included in these rates".

Described on Event Space in Chicago as "Nestled in the heart of the Rogers Park community of Chicago, Ciao Bella is a warm atmosphere that can be rented for either day or evening meetings or your leisure events. A full kitchen onsite can cater your meal or you can meet during the day and enjoy in-house coffee bar service. Seating is flexible and can be arranged in various configurations. Onsite FREE wifi is available to group rentals", the rental information also notes:

Upon finding this information, I researched Caio Bella Cafe for permits and found that they applied for a liquor licence.

I think we are looking at a new Restaurant/Bar/Club scheduled for February on Sheridan Road.

With the weather being so spectacular as of late, more people have been seen bicycling through out the area. Here is a reminder of the laws around bicycling, information gathered from the Robert's Cycle official website

Bike Laws:

Some Chicago bike laws are well known, but some are new to a lot of people. Due to the anticipated increase in the number of cyclists on the roads resulting in part from the increase in gas prices, police are being urged to step up the enforcement of the laws pertaining to cyclists as well as motorists.

Some of the laws are obvious and have been around for a long time such as stopping at stop signs or traffic lights, yielding to pedestrians on crosswalks, using hand signals when turning and basically observing the laws that govern motorists.

Some aren't as obvious such as - When riding at night, you must have a headlamp on the front of your bike that emits a white light visible from a distance of at least 500 feet and a red reflector on the rear of your bike. (we recommend a red flashing taillight). Municipal code 9-52-080.

Smoker lights himself on fire at Lake Shore facility

The man, who was using a wheelchair, had gone to an outdoor patio at the nursing home, lit a cigarette, and placed his lighter in a pocket, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. The man continued smoking, and somehow, his clothes ignited, Mirabelli said.
