Holsman House timeline

Tuesday, Oct 1st, remaining cars parked in Shambhala lot had to vacate.

Weds Oct 2nd, they did asbestos abatement and dropped off the heavy equipment.

Thurs Oct 3rd, they turned off the water for all Sherwin on the South side of the street from Sheridan to the Lake (which includes Levy House). A locksmith also changed or removed locks to front door.

Friday Oct 4th, fencing surrounds 7331 N. Sheridan Road property and back wall of building is demolished with no demolition permit on record. In addition, demolition started without proper fencing erected. (Video to be posted soon).

Holsman House to be fenced starting October 1st

We tried. We all tried.

Petitions, outreach, protest and a landmark designation suggestion.

The sad news is that on October 1st, the Holsman House and it's adjoining property (7331 N. Sheridan Road and 7315-17 N. Sheridan Road) will be fenced off.

Noise and a Mess, Progress to the Parking Garage

Something I use to promote is being a good neighbor in the community and being courteous to things going on around you. I still encourage that immensely, but have quieted down on promoting personal and activist stances since I've been developing and re-formatting my company.

However, I am more than outraged at the inconsiderate and rude actions that have been occurring on the two properties that are going to be destroyed and ruined by the planned parking garage.

Cement left wet in the grass, blocking cars, noise complaints, so many issues, and the beautiful properties haven't even been destroyed yet.

My partner and co-writer for Rogers Park in 1,000 Words does senior care for a living and worked at Levy house today where several residents complained about the construction and poor attitudes of the workers.

Great start to a great project, wouldn't you say? Videos coming soon on:
