While I was walking down Farwell at Wayne Avenue this morning, I noticed this Construction Activity  / Public Way Impact Notice.

While driving down each street in Rogers Park, I noticed this gang graffiti at the CTA overpass at Glenwood and Lunt Avenues.

Dangling shoes on Glenwood and Touhy

On 10/07/07 at 12:51pm, I spotted these new, never worn or even laced white Nike's hanging from the electrical lines on Touhy and Glenwood.

Craig Gernhardt asked on his blog:

"What's Bill Morton know that we don't? Bill seems to think when there's a pair of hanging tennis shoes from the electrical lines, that's a sign a drug house is near. More specific, a crack den".

I have also photographed dangling shoes, on Ridge near Chase and in the alley behind Park Gyros beside Touhy Park.

New Vison in the heart of Rogers Park

Well, that's what the banner says, but how about these better options:

New security cameras in every business

New police officers walking the beat 24/7

New police dogs to catch every drug dealer

New undercover police officers, because even I know who is, and who isn't

Forget about a "new vision" for Rogers Park.

How about a new heart for "the heart of Rogers Park", because the current one is obviously broken.
