Glenwood and Lunt graffiti

While driving down each street in Rogers Park, I noticed this gang graffiti at the CTA overpass at Glenwood and Lunt Avenues.

Ashland and Pratt

Here is the photo shoot that I mentioned. It was taken on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, and it clearly showed the rival gang graffiti all along the way (before the recent shooting of the 13, 15 and 19 year old kids on Ashland and Pratt).

Pictured above is the shrine of Omar Estrada, who was shot to death sitting on this bench in Touhy Park.

I had the opportunity to meet his family at the shrine this afternoon.

Who is responsible for his murder in Rogers Park?

Covering Up Graffiti in Rogers Park

There is no question that the graffiti problem is a large concern for local business owners and home owners in Rogers Park. Along the side of Parkside Gyros near Touhy Park, a new strategy is in place to cover vandalism and deter future tagging by local gangs.



I had an opportunity to comment on the situation with Michael Luckenbach earlier in the exact same location.

Sheridan and Arthur graffiti problem

This is the construction site for The Morgan at Loyola Station.

The graffiti problem is all along Sheridan Road and Arthur Avenue.
