Chicago police released more information Wednesday afternoon on an earlier shooting that took place near Loyola University Chicago’s Lake Shore Campus in Rogers Park.

Loyola Campus Safety on Sheridan Road shooting

Earlier this morning the Chicago Police Department (CPD) reported that an individual was shot in the Rogers Park neighborhood near 6760 North Sheridan Road (close to the intersection of Sheridan and Pratt).

Membership in the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce Really Pays Off

Local Neighborhood Mix writer recognizes the benefits of Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce membership.

Featured local contributor Whitney Levon researched her subject well when she wrote her article on the benefits of membership in the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce. Levon writes "The Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce offers several perks to local businesses that join the organization. These perks are all in addition to the usual opportunities to network that you will find in other chambers. Many organizations offer business-to-business networking opportunities and the chance to have your business listed on their website, but not much more than that".

Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce President Bill Morton stated regarding the article "It was a breath of fresh air to read that a local writer really understands that our chamber of commerce is pushing forward to benefit our members and our community in any way that we can. We really do everything possible in the best interest of business in Rogers Park including not only networking events, internet marketing and shoveling storefronts during the winter, but offering many useful options that are geared to build and strengthen our local businesses".

Two examples of member benefits include a $40 discount for graphic design or letterpress printing at member Tweedle Press and One month of free internet service with the purchase of a Clear internet package from member Quest Network Services.

He would like to remind 49th Ward voters that he is running as a write-in candidate for 49th Ward Alderman.

49th Ward Democratic Party Board afraid to endorse

The 49th Ward Democratic Party Board is afraid to endorse a Mayoral candidate unless they feel it is a sure thing.

Loyola Student Dispatch reports:

The 49th Ward Democratic Party also voted to endorse Illinois State Representative Susana Mendoza for City Clerk. Mendoza earned 86.4 percent of the vote, over her opponent, Commissioner of Water Reclamation, Patricia Horton, who received 15.6 percent.

It is important to be a registered voter and vote in every election.

•Because your activism, including in reforming the system, will be more powerful if you have voted.

•Because your monitoring of the fairness of the election must begin with voting in it.

•Because there is a real value in not allowing things to get any worse than they have.
