Independence Day - A photo journal (Rogers Park)

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States.

While the official observance always falls on July 4th, participation levels may vary according to which day of the week the 4th falls on. If the holiday falls in the middle of the week, some fireworks displays and celebrations may take place during the weekend for convenience, again, varying by region.

The first week of July is typically one of the busiest American travel periods of the year, as many people utilize the holiday for extended vacation trips.

I would like to start this Independence Day photo journal with a video from the end of the night, and then present the photographs in chronological order.

  1. Good fourth of july this year atleast there seems to be less crime/thugs on Morse.

Me and my son did a stint picking up trash around the area, a great away to celebrate the 4th, trash wasnt too bad, other than excessive heaping of trash at the trash cans, but better there than on the ground.

got a pair of shoes at sole city for me and my son.

  2. Photo number five is a hot dog!

I walked little Rock N Roll all the way to Hartigan Beach (Albion), and back to Quest at Sheridan and Chase that day.

We rested and had a bottle of water in the shade near the stand in the sand.
