The Dark Side to Development

"One other thing: There is a dark side to development. Some developers obtained financing yet never moved ahead on projects, leaving vacant, dilapidated buildings in their wake. Some new construction increases density yet doesn't include adequate parking, even though parking is already a huge problem in Rogers Park. Destruction of architectural treasures such as the Adelphi Theater to make way for more cookie-cutter condo buildings makes no sense. (And by the way, the Adelphi site is vacant over a year after demolition.)" Read more here.
