Come celebrate the fun filled '50s on Saturday afternoon, April 5th, 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM. Come celebrate the fun filled '50s with the Roger Park West Ridge Historical Society at its annual fundraising event, and see first hand one of Rogers Park's most impressive properties, the historic Lang House B&B (formerly Cat's Cradle) at 7421 North Sheridan. Designed by architect Edgar M. Newman (1863-1940) in the American Foursquare style, the carefully restored Lang House is noted for its impressive entrance, Arts and Craft-styled murals, mosaic decorated walls, hardwood floors and leaded-glass windows. Owners/managers Bruce Boyd and Wayde Cartwright will give guests a personally-guided tour. The event will feature authentic Fifties- style food, cocktails, mocktails, and music as well as a silent auction. Well-known historical interpreter and caterer Ellie Carlson will bring to life a 1950s housewife to demonstrate historic cooking techniques and prepare dishes typical of the period. Sheriff’s Central Warrant Unit Arrests Alderman Joe Moore Contributor
Wednesday, March 26, 2014 — Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today that the department’s Central Warrant Unit officers arrested a Chicago man who owes more than $500,000 in past-due child support.
Sheriff’s Central Warrant Unit officers arrested Cedomir Zuric, 52, Friday night after receiving a tip that he was staying at a residence in the 4300 block of North Clarendon Avenue in Chicago.
Zuric owes a total of $555,876 in past due child support payments for three children. A warrant was issued for his arrest in 2008.
Zuric is out of custody after posting a $23,462.24 cash bond.
The Sheriff’s Central Warrant Unit handles the execution of arrest warrants for child support, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, police fugitives, and electronic monitoring fugitives.

I have been spending more time visiting The Fish Keg, and have recently tried catfish for the first time, with their breaded Cajun Catfish ... delicious! Here is some more on Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce member, The Fish Keg:
"The Fish keg has a wide variety of Seafood, readily cooked for you or to take home yourself and prepare. Everything is priced by the pound, so you can order the amount that's right for you. We recommend a half pound for a light meal, try three quarters of a pound to fill you up, or if you're feeling hungrier than usual the SKIES THE LIMIT. We will cook it up hot and fresh right in front of you, and it usually only takes about five Minutes or less.
We have a wide variety of Seafood in the store, but we are limited by space. With a half days' notice or a call before 9 A.M. the Fish Keg can order and have ready many different types of fish presently not on the menu (if available).Call for requests, price comparisons, etc. Some varieties we can obtain for you include Live Lobster, Red Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Halibut, Tuna, Grouper, etc. etc. etc.
Fish Keg party trays are a great idea for any occasion. Whether its seafood, salads, or chicken, we can have it prepared in the spur of the moment or better yet call ahead and place your order for any time of day and your party order will be ready for pickup. We can usually take your orders as early as 8:00 a.m. We promise to have it prepared fresh to your specifications.
