Red Dead Redemption is the spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver developed by Rockstar San Diego for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is primarily a third-person shooter, taking place in a large sandbox-style open world, in the vein of the Grand Theft Auto series. The game takes place in the American Old West in 1911, and follows John Marston, a former outlaw who is tasked with killing or capturing his former gang members by the American government.
