Woman falls on Howard Station tracks

An eye-witness to the scene describes the woman falling from the platform to the electrical track, shaking and vibrating before CTA staff were able to cut power to the line. The woman, then still shaking, attempted to rise.

  1. And roughly 12 minutes after the story broke on Rogers Park in 1,000 Words, the Chicago Tribune reports:

    "The woman made contact with the electrified third rail during the fall at Chicago Transit Authority's Red Line Howard station in the 7500 block of North Paulina Street in Rogers Park, but was conscious and breathing as she left the scene, a CTA official said".
