Loyola events to mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks

On September 10, Loyola’s School of Social Work and the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis will host The Trauma and Terror of 9/11: 10 Years Later, a day-long conference featuring experts who will interpret the intense emotions of the day and its long-term effects. Following the conference will be a candlelight vigil commemoration service on the East Quad of Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus held on September 11, at 8 p.m. During the ceremony, the Loyola community will gather around the University’s peace pole to honor those who lost their lives. The ceremony will include music, prayers from different faith traditions, reflections, and remarks by Loyola President Michael J. Garanzini, S.J.
