Sons of the Never Wrong

July 9th, 2011 8 p.m.
Tickets: $20 day of

Chicago-based folk trio Sons of the Never Wrong bring an eclectic performance of folk, jazz, pop and rock to Mayne Stage. The band has been creating original "turbo-charged folk music" for 17 years, bringing them a cult-like national following. The Chicago Tribune reviews, "The personal glues that hold the group together are a clear joy in performing together, a sense of gratitude to a loyal fan base, and three dry, delightfully skewed senses of humor." With their different take on three-part harmony coupled with witty, whimsical songs, Sons' style springs from a tradition, describing themselves as "not your grandpop's folk music." The band is comprised of singer and acoustic player Bruce Roper, folk vocalist Sue Demeland multi-instrumentalist and singer Deborah Lader, playing banjo, mandolin and guitar.

Mayne Stage is proud to announce jazz trumpet player Corey Wilkes Group, Billy the Mime and Haymarket Opera presents "Aci, Galatea, e Polifemo" and Stephanie Rogers Band CD Release Party. Tickets for all these events go on sale Saturday, July 9 at noon by calling (866) 468-3401 or online at http://www.maynestage.com/ .
