neighbor: "glad i moved!"

A recent conversation caught my interest concerning some of the worst aspects of Rogers Park.

My position on the issue:

... for those who consistently excuse the issues in our community including crime, corruption, poverty and violence by saying "It's the city, deal with it" or "It's the Chicago Way".. you are part of the problem, not the solution.

There is not room for this kind of behavior in Rogers Park, even if it has been this way for about 20 years.

  1. Well this person didnt have a real stake in the community, wasnt a property owner likely.

North of Howard is a rough area to be sure.

So was Morse and Wayne we first moved into the neigborhood in 2005, look at it now, perfect? no. But much better, I never give up, I have picked up trash, called in 311 on graffiti, talked with the owner of ninos and golden mini marts property countless times, called 911 numerous times and we are fixing up an old apt building.
When I say picked up trash, I mean going around the block, a whole city block from wayne down farwell to greenview to morse and back.

Its a long term strategy, to expect huge change in 1.5 to 2 years is ludicrous. This poster is
a quitter. Nothing improves with quitters.
