A Rogers Park grocery store was shut by city inspectors today after they found hundreds of mouse droppings and no hot water there, according to the city.

Clark Supermarket, 6647 N. Clark St., was closed after inspectors with Mayor Daley’s Dumpster Task Force stopped there during inspections of businesses in the area and found more than 500 mouse droppings, according to a release from the Department of Streets and Sanitation.

Droppings were found in the store’s walk-in cooler, as well as on store shelving. The rodents also had grawed on two large bags of rice and several bags of corn chips, according to the release.

What the city said were “numerous” holes and openings in the store’s walls “provided mice with multiple nesting options,” according to the release.

The store also had no hot water, and had “major cleanliness issues,” according to the release.

“Management is going to have a lot of work to do before this store will be allowed to reopen,” said Streets and Sanitation Deputy Cmsr. Josie Cruz, whose burea of rodent control runs the task force, in the release.

  3. Called in some gangbanger activity at morse and wayne this evening at 7pm. I was picking up pizza at jb albertos and had to wait until both sets of bangers were dispersed. About 4-7 of them at nicos and about that many at the laundrymat. Took the cops about 15 or so minutes to come by.

In the meantime tony of albertos was nice enough to give me a sample of a very cool pocket pizza, but with real tomato/cheese filling.... very good.

So I got to sample a new offering at albertos until the coast was clear. I was not going to cross between rival gangs to get home south of morse.

  4. Another thing I noticed is that one mexican banger, probably a brazer went home to 6921 n wayne, atleast to the gangway. I tried calling a and p management, no luck. That may inevitably be a 311 call for a nonworking number for their building management. They have atleast hired someone to keep their property kept free of litter.

6921 n wayne is the problem building of my block for sure.

  5. Very active day in my neck of the woods, new drug dealers were at my corner of wayne and farwell yesterday and today. They likely have police scanners because they leave soon after 911 is called, each time they only had time for one drug deal.

I gave the cops descriptions of the dealers, one is an evil looking spike lee person, except she is a lady, liklely lesbian with short hard and classes, and yes looks evil, usually wears a bulls uniform, and an older AA male and there was a weird pimp looking african guy, i say african because of his accent, he was in on it and some skeevy looking white guy lent the evil spike lee lady his phone.

They have been trying to deal drugs at wayne and farwell during the day on the weekend,
the evil spike lee lady was being nice to passerbys to make it look like she is so nice.....

Haha. She was hanging on the fence with her accomplice of the 6832 n waynes building.

    Very active day today.....

  7. I heard about the business on Clark Street that the city closed because of rats! Hope Rahm Emanuel don't cut the city's budget on rat patrol. I have seen city rats climb out of sewers and into the tail pipes of automoblies for shelter fromt he winter storms. We may have to leash the rats under a Chihuahua ordinance if the rat problem progresses.
