Halloween Walk on Saturday

Halloween has become one of America's favorite holidays and why not?

It is steeped in tradition, folklore, and mythology for starters. It's not just for children but their parents as well - bring the kids and the family dog along for a Halloween Walk.

We'll meet at Willye White Park at 1610 West Howard, Saturday October 30 at 8:30 PM. Bring your sage sticks, incense, candles, glow sticks, flashlights, tambourines, bells, drums for a walk through the three parks North of Howard and on to Rogers Beach. If you have a favorite Halloween tale or family tradition to share we'll take a minute or two for story time.

In some schools of thought, Halloween is the night when the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is the thinnest - when those on the living side can communicate to their departed loved ones. It's a time to honor their memory and lives.

Its also a time for preparation for the long winter as we reap the bounty of summer. But most of us relate Halloween to pranks and costumes, parties and fun. So please join us and make the first real Halloween Walk a fun event to remember. Maybe we can frighten the evil spirits away!
