Sirens

I've been hearing sirens all night long racing down Sheridan Road.

I've checked Craig's blog, The 'Broken Heart' of Rogers Park.

I've checked:

24/7 North of Howard watchers
The RP & Beyond
Outside.In
RogersPark.com
Fargo Observer
North Howard Neighbors Association
Network 2424
The Rogers Park Inconsistent
Estes Dude
Engage Community Newsletter
Al Iverson & Al Iverson's Bacon Rodeo
Action: The University in the Community
RP Moto Chick

and even the lowly alderman's blog.

So, what were these sirens all about?

UPDATE:

Craig delivers with a link to the Chicago Sun-Time article on his blog, The 'Broken Heart' of Rogers Park.

Thank you Craig!

    Sun-Times Media Wire

Two men are in custody after allegedly beating a Loyola University police sergeant, sending him to a hospital early Sunday in the Rogers Park neighborhood.

About 3 a.m., the uniformed sergeant saw a battery in progress in the 6400 block of North Sheridan Road, Rogers Park District police Lt. Mark Amati said. The battery did not occur on school grounds.

“He intervened and two subjects attacked him. They beat him and kicked him,” Amati said.

The sergeant was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston but had been released as of 3 p.m., Amati said.

Charges are pending for the two young men who allegedly attacked him.

A Loyola University spokesperson was not immediately available for comment Sunday afternoon.

    Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
