Wanted for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault

About the Crime:

On January 29, 2014, at approximately 7:05 p.m. in the 1200 block of West North Shore, a 24-year-old female victim was in the building's basement laundry room when an unknown male offender approached her from behind and covered her eyes with his hands. The offender stated that he had a gun and told the victim to give him her money.  The offender then removed the victim's keys and telephone from her pocket.  The victim began to struggle with the offender and during this time the offender struck the victim's head against a support beam.  The offender then sexually assaulted the victim. 

About the Offender:

The offender is described as a black male, 5'10"-6'02", wearing tan boots, blue jeans and a black jacket with black and white wrist cuffs.  

What you can do:

·        Report any suspicious people or activity in the area.

·        Be aware of the situation and alert neighbors in the area.

·        Pay special attention to any subjects loitering in the area.

• Do not wear headphones while walking alone.
• Contact Area North Detectives if you develop any information on the above incident.

Motivation - Vbody Power Fitness

We all need motivation sometimes, especially in Rogers Park. Last summer, I posted a Vbody Power Fitness workout every morning here on Rogers Park in 1,000 Words. Randy of Vbody is located at 7301 N. Sheridan Road and his videos often feature some familiar Rogers Park locales.

Caio Bella Cafe's new concept

Ciao Bella Cafe's reopening new concept is set for February 1st, 2014

Previously a cafe named Ciao Bella, and previous to that, a cafe named Pillars, is preparing for another transition in February of this year. But, until this transition is in place, they are renting their space for private events to the tune of $1,000 per day, or "Mon - Thurs $225/hr or $1,000/5hr Fri-Sun $325/hr or $1,500/5hr Staff included in these rates".

Described on Event Space in Chicago as "Nestled in the heart of the Rogers Park community of Chicago, Ciao Bella is a warm atmosphere that can be rented for either day or evening meetings or your leisure events. A full kitchen onsite can cater your meal or you can meet during the day and enjoy in-house coffee bar service. Seating is flexible and can be arranged in various configurations. Onsite FREE wifi is available to group rentals", the rental information also notes:

Upon finding this information, I researched Caio Bella Cafe for permits and found that they applied for a liquor licence.

I think we are looking at a new Restaurant/Bar/Club scheduled for February on Sheridan Road.
