Its very quiet most of the time, safe for children, people friendly, the maintenance man in this building is awesome. He takes care of issues right away. When my microwave stopped working after 5 years, he came up the next day to install a new one. When my AC was worn out, he installed a new one. They check the water/ pipes regularly & the & just last year installed new pipes for the heating. The exterminator comes bimonthly to prevent the issue of bugs & if there are problem, they make it their duty to take care of it immediately. I only had bedbugs once which the landlord called the exterminator & they came the next day to handle the issue, which the exterminator confirmed came from the cracks in the ceiling from my upstairs neighbor dropping weights all the time. I love the neighborhood. If I were to upgrade my apartment to a 2 bedroom, I would really want to stay with DLG. Your apartment is what you make of it. Most people get bugs from the tranfer of traveling out of town or on public transportation. The management isn't the one that brings them to the building but with DLG, they make it their priority to take care of the issue quick & to prevent them. I've never known any other management to send an exterminator regularly & some managements, like cagan, don't take care of bugs at allAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-721929307371594777.post-75759349649414503352014-05-06T14:11:49.395-05:002014-05-06T14:11:49.395-05:00When my roommate and I decided to go our separate ...When my roommate and I decided to go our separate ways from our Rogers Park apartment, i decided to find a studio. I rented from the 6807 N. Sheridan building and was set to move in mid September since the apartment would not be ready until then. I moved in on a Saturday, but Wednesday I realized I was getting bit. As I was finally about to start unpacking, I found a weird bug in the closet. I took pics of it and searched online. It looked similar to a bed bug but it was brown. I went to sleep that night and woke up to more bites. The next day I found more information online about the life cycle of bed bugs. I realized the bedbug i found was brown because it wasn't full of bug. I called the building management and told them about finding bed bugs and that I needed to move. How scarey is that to move into a new apartment and to get bit by bugs less than a week later? They let me out of my lease and I moved the following Saturday. Was only in the apartment for a week. I was so paranoid after that that i ended up throwing away a third of my stuff in fear of taking them to my new apartment, including my 5 month old new dresser. I was very paranoid for a long time. My roommate and I did not have bed bugs in our building and this new building tried to make it seem as though they've never had bed bugs. When I looked on Bed Bug Registry website, I saw 2 reports for that address. All in all I found about 8 bed bugs as I started to pack up my apartment. I collected them and showed the building manager, he still told me that they did not find any bed bugs as he had someone to inspect my apartment during the time I went to pick up my truck when I moved out. Lies. I showed him the ones I collected in a bowl! I would never rent from that management company ever again! It was one of the most stressful experience in my life!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-721929307371594777.post-63891384350813272812013-10-28T16:16:17.541-05:002013-10-28T16:16:17.541-05:00I am a current tenant in 7301 N Sheridan Rd. They are new apts that have been renovated recently (at least mine has) However, there is a roach problem in the warmer months. When I moved here, in April, I noticed roaches in my kitchen in July. I've used the Hotshot Clear Gel (sold at hardware stores/Menards) and got rid of the ones that were in my apt (can't speak on anyone else's experiences). I have not heard of complaints about roaches since August (it's almost Nov now).
