Vista North Open Public Meeting

The other day, I received an e-mail that was read quickly and taken very seriously about a building group that was supposedly legally obligated to build a parking lot and, as of yet, has not. Other issues had been brought up, such as the building being dirty, broken glass littering common areas, etc. Our original post is here:

In the e-mail, I was told that there was a public meeting Thursday August 22nd at 6pm at Sol Cafe. Bill Morton, founder of Rogers Park in 1,000 Words, and I went there to see what was going on. To learn about the circumstances, and record, note, or document the entire meeting.

Below are the videos from the meeting:

We attended the meeting to hear both sides of the story so that everyone had a fair chance to explain the circumstances. We remained quiet so as to not sway the meeting and allow the individuals that had been "called out" have a fair chance to say what they felt was important about the situation and fairly cover the entire event.

Unfortunately, the meeting wasn't very productive. There was a lot of name calling and insults passed around. The community's concerns were overruled and turned into a joke.

What was worse, a reader of ours with the same name as the founder of Rogers Park in 1,000 Words was called and harassed about my posting a local neighbor's concerns. Unfortunately, we had to tell him to block the number.

Is affordable housing North of Howard supposed to be a very profitable business?

I didn't think so?

Interesting Meeting.

Condo board meetings are usually contentious. Better to just be a landlord.

That's not easy either. But better than a fight among owners.
