I kid you not fine citizens of East Rogers Park, the pictures that you see before you are not of the alley, but of Alderman Joe Moore's Parking lot. What's with the beer can and other rubbish when there are plenty of garbage cans clustered on the parking lot's edge? Good job on the walkways, but citizens also cross the parking lot which is encrusted with compacted snow, and is quite slippery I might add. In fact while I was taking these pictures a drunk from the pub across the street, hassled me for being such a concerned citizen and almost slipped in the snow that is in your parking lot. Being trained in hostile situations, trouble was avoided, so there were no problems and I sent him directly back to the pub from which he came. It is sad to see garbage around the city especially when we the concerned citizens of East and West Rogers Park prioritize the cleanliness of our neighborhood. And lastly, it is not only good to keep our walkways free of snow debris as you have demonstrated, but remember your parking lot as well.
Reporting from the site of the former Freaky NU NU memorial shrine, aka the Jarvis redline stop on block Moore, this is the Chicago Shadow bidding you a good morrow!

4 Rogers Park comments:
I was listening to the scanner when this event occured.
Apparently, either the drunk or the bar tender at the Celtic Bar on Jarvis called 411 instead of 911 about the incident.
It would seem like the instigator was trying to turn the tables on their failed attempt to halt the neighborhood watch, but dialed the wrong number to get any results.
Like my Dad told me ... Lay off the juice, It's a killer.
Fine shots, Shadow, and on such a frozen night!
An "architecturally insignificant" building such as this one, which houses Joe Moore's office, attracts a lot of the SCUM and THUGS in the neighborhood. And, with them comes the litter which creates even more URBAN BLIGHT!
All this, after Joe named this intersection "Jarvis Square", as if to GLAMORIZE a scurvy-looking STRIP MALL!
It was the drunk who called 411 on his cell phone. His waste of minutes I say. Not only that, I think 411 cost $2.
I feel that Moore has to send out a community message to the people on his block as to what the correct emergency number to dial is, and to put waste in its proper receptacle instead of scattering across his parking lot. What are those $50,000 “Big Belly Solar Compactors” for? Jeez. Take care ya'll, and enjoy the heat wave. And don’t forget to clear your parking lot. That’s if you have one.
I'm surprised there wasn't a "Big Belly" trash can over here. Isn't that what Moore wanted for the neighborhood? Do these solar power trash cans not work at night due to lack sun light?
